Dop Course Outline
OS3020 Photonic Artistic Creation and AI Tools Last Revised: 2024-03-08
Course Objectives This course aims to learn optoelectronic technology and artificial intelligence technology, reflect on life experience, and present learning results in the form of theater performances. In this course, students can actually operate the technologies of optoelectronics and artificial intelligence software, use teamwork to present artistic results after reflection on life, and perform them in the form of theater performances.

Prerequisite

Textbook N.A.

Topical Outline Since new technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), can alter our visual and auditory perceptions of our appearance and life, our identity—including factors like age, gender, profession, nationality, environment, background, and more—could be easily transformed and imagined. In this course, Art using AI : Experiments, identities and hybridations (Identités, hybridations, experimentations-Créer avec l‘intelligence artificielle), we aim to utilize modern visual, optical and auditory tools (LEDs, projectors and remote Wi-Fi control) for experiments that allow us to communicate with different identities, either our own or those of others.
The students will present their hybrid experiences through images and sounds with the help of AI. The presentations may include illustrated images with accompanying stories, videos with sound or music, all to be showcased in a showroom or a theater, such as the Black Box theater at NCU.
Through this course, as students reflect on their lives and experiences, they can contemplate the meaning of life, present their reflections through artwork, and gain valuable experience in using photonic and AI software.
