Undegraduate Admission
Welcome to the International Degree Students Undergraduate Programs page for the Department of Optics and Photonics (DOP) at National Central University (NCU). Before applying this program, please be sure that you are eligible to apply as an international student. We abide by the "Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan" issued by the Ministry of Education. Please read them carefully before you apply. Violation of the above-mentioned regulations will result in immediate cancellation of the applicant's admission, the deprivation of the applicant's recognized status as a NCU registered student, or revocation of the applicant's NCU diploma. No academic certificate will be given.
Chinese Proficiency
Admission into DOP's undergraduate program is quite competitive. Although we offer a few graduate courses lectured in English, as of 2012 academic year; all undergraduate courses are lectured in Chinese. Therefore, studying in DOP's undergraduate program requires high level of spoken Chinese proficiency. Strong written Chinese proficiency is, however, not required. International students who are interested in enrolling in DOP's undergraduate program are strongly advised to prepare themselves for studying in a predominant Mandarin speaking environment before applying to this program.
Admissions
Prospective students (foreigners) who are interested in enrolling in DOP's international degree undergraduate program are advised to visit Office of International Affairs at NCU's website for detailed information about application procedures.
