International Program

The Department of Optics and Photonics (DOP) welcomes international students from around the world who are interested in our short-term visiting research and/or student exchange programs. These programs encourage students at another institution to come to DOP at National Central University as a short-term, non-degree student to work with an intended DOP faculty member on a specific research activity/project.

The Student Exchange Program between UA and NCU

The University of Arizona (UA) and National Central University (NCU) have the student-exchange program for both undergraduate and graduate students. This program was initiated by the Department of Optics and Photonics (DOP) at NCU and College of Optical Sciences at UA three years ago. Since then, there have been more than 6 exchange students from both sides of UA and NCU attending the program. The exchange students conduct optics research, language learning, and visiting during their stay in Taiwan/USA. It has been proved to be a rewarding experience for both sides of exchanging students.

Starting from 2012, to provide an even stronger stimulus for international students from the University of Arizona and other top universities from around the globe, DOP offers a scholarship for a total of up to US$2500 for students admitted to the short term visiting research or exchange student program within the Department. Students with nationality of R.O.C. (Taiwan) are not eligible to apply.
