Biography

Dr. Yi-Chun Chen was born in Keelung, Taiwan. She received the B.S. degree in civil engineering and the M.S. degree in applied mechanics from National Taiwan University in 1998 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in optical sciences from the University of Arizona in 2006.

Dr. Chen joined the Department of Optics and Photonics, National Central University (NCU) as an assistant professor in 2007 and has been promoted to associate professor in 2014. She served as the Chair of the Joint Science Program, College of Science, NCU, from November 2010 to July 2013. Her research interests include evaluations of visual performance and visual comfort in relation to lighting and display, instrumentation on nuclear-medicine imaging and surface plasmon resonance, and interferometric fringe analysis

Current Research Areas

Current research include the development of a biomedical imaging sensor based on surface plasmon resonance, research and development of a dual modality SPECT/CT, tomographic image analysis, visual performance and visual comfort evaluation with natural and artificial lighting, and inteferogram analysis for highly-aberrated wavefronts.
