OPTIC 2018 and an NCU Anniversary
Optics & Photonics Taiwan, the International Conference (OPTIC 2018) was held from 6 to 8 December at the College of Photonics at the National Chiao Tung University in Tainan, Taiwan. OSA President Ursula Gibson and OSA Chief Scientist Gregory Quarles attended the meeting, where Gibson delivered a plenary talk titled “Optical materials for the IR: Vapor deposited films and molten-core fibers.”
While in Taiwan, Gibson and Quarles visited National Central University (NCU) in Taoyuan City, where they met with the NCU student chapter and celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Department of Optics and Photonics at NCU.
